Southeast Region Coordinator
Patrolman Scott Phelps is a 17-year law enforcement veteran currently employed with the Durant Police Department. Patrolman Phelps is assigned to the patrol division at the Durant Police Department. Patrolman Phelps actively responds to and investigates motor vehicle collisions, impaired driving investigations, impaired driving incidents resulting in fatality collisions, and general traffic violations.
Patrolman Phelps is a graduate of Western Oklahoma State College, with an Associate’s Degree in Business; a graduate of Southeastern Oklahoma State University, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration; a graduate of Southeastern Oklahoma State University, with a Master’s of Business Administration. Patrolman Phelps is a Doctoral Candidate at Liberty University.
Patrolman Phelps has administered field sobriety tests to approximately 1,000 individuals. Patrolman Phelps successfully apprehended approximately 80 impaired drivers and hundreds of intoxicated pedestrians. Patrolman Phelps is a certified Field Sobriety Test Instructor, Drug Recognition Expert, and Drug Recognition Expert Instructor.
In his free time, Patrolman Phelps enjoys Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, spending time with family and friends, and cooking.
